Video Caching in the Access Network
Wednesday, 13 June 2007

Late 2005 and early 2006 I wrote a dissertation or thesis as part of my master degree in computer science at Ghent University. It's a document I'm very proud of and until today I consider it to be the most interesting experience in the six years of my academic education.

An access network

Video Caching in the access network (or Video Caching in het access netwerk, in Dutch) handles about the placement and configurations of caches in the access networks of digital television providers in order to decrease load of the central server. The research involved building a simple network traffic simulator and using it to compare different network topologies and different cache configurations

The 88 page document is written in Dutch, the corresponding abstract is in English.
